Alain KLEINMANN

Alain Kleinmann was born in 1953 in Paris where he lives and works. More than one hundred exhibitions have been consecrated by galleries, museums and contemporary art centers in various countries (Europe, USA, South America, Asia, and Africa).

 

The greatest museums exposed his art work: Center Pompidou (Paris), Leonardo da Vinci Museum (Milan), Science Museum (London), Kunshtalle (Berlin), New York Coliseum (New York), Tekniska Museet (Stockolm), Palais des Beaux-Arts (Bruxelles) Palais de Beaulieu (Lausanne), Palacio Velasquez (Madrid), E.L.A.C. (Lyon), Musée municipal (Bat Yam), Tretiakov Contemporary Art Museum (Moscou), Charlottenborg Museum (Copenhague), Technische Hogeschool (Delft), Mercal el Born (Barcelona), Magnes Museum (San Francisco), Musée de l’Académie des Beaux-Arts (Pekin), Shandong Museum, Shengzen Museum, Contemporary Art Museum (Santiago, Chile), Tokyo Bunkamura Museum (Tokyo), Loft Museum (Nagoya), Kirin Plaza Fundation (Osaka).. .

 

About ten monographies have been published on his work including texts of Aragon, Marcel Marceau, André Glucksmann, Elie Wiesel, Vladimir Yankelevitch, lvry Gitlis, Georges Moustaki, Hastaire, Martin Gray, Richard Dembo, Pierre Restany… and he is the author of the book “La peinture et autres lieux” (Editions Dima 2002).

 

He made sceneries for theatre (Theatre la Bruyere, Maison des Arts de Creteil) and many book covers. Several movies and academic thesis have been devoted to his art work.

 

He is also co-founder with Hastaire of Memoire Group (Kleinmann, Hastaire, Kuper, Zaborov, Vaughn-James, Aryckx.. .).

 

Two personal exhibitions have occurred at the Galerie des Tuiliers in 2006 and 2009
