Jean-Marc Brunet was born in 1970. He lives and works in Chassemy, France.
Usually considered at an abstract painter, he however refers to the nature in his works. Jean-Marc Brunet is inspired by the lights and landscapes he observes in his many journeys. Deeply connected to a literary world, he contributes to numerous works of his poet friends : books-works, illustrations, monotypes, canvas and sketches.
Since 1990, Jean-Marc Brunet is exhibited in numerous museums, in France and all over the world.
The Galerie des Tuiliers organized a personnal exhibition of his works in 2010.
« Jean-Marc Brunet’s studio is in festive disarray. Nothing must impede this artist’s ccreativity who says he is constantly learning. Only doubt governs his choices. He is one of these rare lucky few who has no inhibitions. Free and standing, he paints or prints according to his mood. Whether working on canvas, paper or wood, the challenge is identical. Getting as close as possible to his desire. A search which can last months or remain unfinished, if Jean-Marc Brunet decides. He only answers to his expectations of truth. » Pierre Drachline, 2010
